About Goat Bridge Farms
Located in Walworth NY, 20 miles east of Rochester, 15 miles from
Lake Ontario and near the Finger Lakes, the farm is about 200 acres
of rolling land. It had for many years been a dairy farm, and
in recent years a beef cow-calf operation.
In early November ’05 we took delivery of 150 doelings fresh off the
west Texas range. Another larger group from the same
ranch came in August of ’06, so we now have over 500 breeding does.
We have several top-notch Fullblood Kiko and Fullblood Savanna
bucks.
The first two years have been busy with construction of buildings,
pasture fencing, setting up pens, waterers, feeders, lab, working
center, computer software installation and startup, in addition to
getting goats bred, through gestation, kidding, weaning.
This is an efficient, working farm, with one excellent
manager-operator, with minimal part time assistance, doing a great
job with the 7-800 animals now on premises.
We intend to produce a line of highly productive commercial
seedstock for Northeastern meat goat producers. Fertility,
mothering ability and efficiency are the keys.
